Opening Reception - Exquisite Corpses

  • The Oddities Museum 3870 North Peachtree Road Chamblee, GA, 30341 United States (map)

ABOUT THE EXHIBIT

A good adventure always begins with "What's the worst that could happen..?" This is followed by all the conflict, adventure, love, loss, suffering, and internal conflict that so enamors us when experiencing a truly interesting story.

The protagonists figure it out as they go...

"Exquisite Corpses" is the collaborative journey of Chris Hamer (Urbnpop) and Erica Malmsten (Odd Modd Works) to create beyond themselves. Some pieces in this exhibition are products of their minds coming together while others show evidence of where each has gone rogue. The majority of this body of work has not been seen by the other until point of installation, where individual processes have been brought together to create a cohesive whole.

Exhibit runs from March 7th 2026 - March 30th 2026

The opening reception is in the gallery and free. Complimentary beer and wine will be served. Enjoy the museum while you’re here. Click the link below for tickets.

Erica Malmsten is a multidisciplinary local Atlanta artist. Her work is influenced by anatomy, medicine, folklore, and iconography, and she has been a working artist for 20 years. She began Odd Modd Works with her partner Karl Knott in 2020. She’s also the lead singer of an Atlanta Metal Band, Bomb Mars Now

Chris Hamer has delivered his most chaotic artistic performance of his career as an artist. Urbnpop started almost 50 years ago when his mother unleashed him in to the world with only a pencil and a foul mouth. Thirty years later “when all else failed” Chris remerged to be known as Urbnpop. Today he sits surrounded by the love of his wife, kids and four legged best friends. Still driving countless hours to show off things he has created, and reading countless amounts of comics books, Chris is still the same foul mouth child who loves this adventure he is on.
